What did the interview consist of?
Phone Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I was dinged at the phone interview stage. Frankly, this was my first interview for any banking role so it was a learning experience. I was interviewing for the Commercial Real Estate group within Wells Fargo Wholesale Banking.
Interview was about 70% technicals 30% Fit. I stumbled badly on the fit.
Technicals were easy, What is EBITDA? Walk me through the three financial statements etc.. Exception is they do ask you some Real Estate specific technicals although my interviewer prefaced it by saying they don't expect you to really know them. However, if you could nail the Real Estate technicals you would probably blow the interviewer away. I would recommend M&I or WallStreetPrep's RE materials.
