Investment Banking Summer Analyst

An alumni contact advised me that an online opening for the summer analyst position would be open for only one day to allow only those with references to apply. I applied and was informed two weeks later that I had a phone interview the following week. The phone interview was casual, and light on technicals. Some basic accounting questions were asked. Otherwise, it was mostly fit. I moved onto the superday, which is held in Charlotte, NC. Wells Fargo reimburses all costs incurred on the trip. There was a networking dinner beforehand where several investment bank employees sat with prospective interns to discuss the company and themselves.

The superday consisted for me of seven interviews with 4 associates, 2 VPs, and an analyst. Almost all the questions were fit, with some general DCF/accounting questions being asked. Mostly, they were looking for intellect and kindness. They seemed to really like that I had background in helping my community.
