Investment Banking Summer Analyst

The interview process was conducted through my university's on campus recruiting process. This began with a variety of informational and recruiting focused events held by the firm on campus After these various events, applications were collected consisting of resumes and cover letters - roughly 30 candidates were given first round interviews which were held on campus. Before the first round interview, a mingle was held at a private reception room at a hotel near campus. The mingle hosted all of the candidates to be interviewed and a variety of employees from across the firm. The mingle was designed to be a time for candidates to get to know the firm better but was clearly being used to vet candidates on a behavioral/social level as well. The next morning first round interview were held, consisting of a single 30 minute session with one to two mid level employees. The interview was solidly technical and focused on a lot on breaking down different deals and news stories and showing your understanding of the different finance and valuation concepts at play. The firm did not extend suprday interview offers, instead offers were handed out after the first round interviews.
