Investment Banking Summer Associate

Early recruiting process, affinity group related (includes military and women). I met bankers and HR reps at a few different events; each time they told you about this early recruiting process and encouraged you to apply. On the application there were four 150 word responses. From there, invited to a two to three day event; meet bankers, presented information about the bank on the first day. Second day had a tour but was really about the interviews in the afternoon. Three interviews, 30 minutes a pop, each was 2 on 1, a few associates but mostly VPs and directors. Standard questions. The third day was another interview for a diversity fellowship program, and not regarding banking (and also not required).

Many of their positions are in Charlotte, so having a good reason as to why you want to be there can go a long way (but isn't required). I know it's standard, but being able to articulate what about them and their specific group goes a long way. From what I could pick up from the junior bankers, lifestyle is not bad (relative to banking standards) especially in coverage groups.
