Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Had multiple coffee chat with the group, spanning around 5-6 with various members. These were set up through an alumni in the group. It was mostly, "how can I help you" some of the questions where technicals such as "what cash flows does a PE firm care about" But more conversational chats that I drove. They also attended campus and had a company presentation here and also my school went to New York and had a networking session over there in their Hudson Yards office. Then from there, secured attended the invite only dinner and had a couple more coffee chats with the group after that. Then got invited to a Wells Fargo Insights Day in New York where the bank was selling themselves as to why they are a great place to work and then based on what group invited you (M&A Group for me). They had breakout sessions with each group. After that, I got a first round interview and was contacted by our campus recruiter. That was a 2 on 1 interview with two Directors. Was all technical, asking questions about merger models and how I would think about certain situations. After that I got a final round interview which was also a 2 on 1 with 2 MDs who were not in the M&A group. It was more of a conversational interview where they asked why Wells and other behavioral questions. After that I got a call a couple hours after the interview with the offer for the New York Office. Just have a really good why Wells. Also, make sure you talk about being at a firm that emphasizes growth, and talk about them like they are a bulge bracket because that is what they view themselves at. Also know about the group you are interviewing for.
