Summer Associate Intern

1st round on-campus interview with 2 people, each one for 30 minutes. It was very conversational with 1-2 very basic technical questions sprinkled in. Questions included walking through a DCF. Then about 1 week later, you get an email inviting you to the 2nd round interview in NYC. You go in and begin the interview process. First, they start out with a company overview. Then, you begin interviewing: 1 interview with HR and 3 interviews with people who work there.

To do well in the interview, you should know why CIT, why corporate finance (AKA their version of corp/comm banking at BBs), and know what each group does. Your interviewers will come from a variety of backgrounds, so it's very helpful. Ask good questions. The interviews are somewhat conversational. However, they were following a sheet that made them ask about scenarios (tell me a time when you had to be organized, tell me a time you were in a high-risk situation, etc.).

What really shocked me was the sheer amount of behavioral questions. Be prepared for these in the 2nd round.
