Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Wind Point is a very "fit oriented" firm when it comes to interviews. They pre-screen all candidates based on college GPAs and standardized test scores...typically you need to have had at least a 3.8 GPA in college and a 1400+ SAT (under the older scoring system) or ACT equivalent to be interviewed. It's off-putting at first, but the basic rationale is that, with so many resumes coming in, that quickly lets them know that a candidate has the "horsepower" for the job, so the primary focus in interviews can then be on whether or not a candidate has the right personality for the firm and industry in general. You'll typically come in two or three times and, if they like you, be taken out to dinner by a group of other Associates. The final step is a standardized exam that is partially an IQ/Intelligence oriented and partially personality oriented. It's predominantly a "check the box" activity though, as only two people have ever been dinged because of it.
