The Interview Experience is a score from 1 star (very negative) to 5 stars (very positive) generated based on the Interview Insights at this company.

The number you see in the middle of the doughnut pie chart is the simple average of these scores. If you hover over the various sections of the donut, you will see the % breakdown of each score given.

The percentile score in the title is calculated across the entire Company Database and uses an adjusted score based on Bayesian Estimates (to account for companies that have few interview insights). Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview
Wind Point is a very "fit oriented" firm when it comes to interviews. They pre-screen all candidates based on college GPAs and standardized test scores...typically you need to have had at least a 3.8 GPA in college and a 1400+ SAT (under the older scoring system) or ACT equivalent to be interviewed. It's off-putting at first, but the basic rationale is that, with so many resumes coming in, that quickly lets them know that a candidate has the "horsepower" for the job, so the primary focus in interviews can then be on whether or not a candidate has the right personality for the firm and industry in general. You'll typically come in two or three times and, if they like you, be taken out to dinner by a group of other Associates. The final step is a standardized exam that is partially an IQ/Intelligence oriented and partially personality oriented. It's predominantly a "check the box" activity though, as only two people have ever been dinged because of it.
Interview Questions
Why does it make sense for us to bring in a new management team for every deal?

WPP is often looking at companies with retiring owners or corporate carve-outs, both of which wouldn't have an existing management team. Furthermore, they're willing to look at "hairier" situations than most, as they partner with top-tier executives in sourcing, diligencing and executing deals, allowing them to better see the true operational potential of targets
What is unique about our strategy relative to other firms? In your opinion, why have we succeeded?

They rarely do a deal without partnering with a top-tier CEO candidate through their diligence process. This has allowed them to maintain a deep operational focus with respect to each target, while still maintaining a broad, generalist approach to deal sourcing. Ultimately they're only constrained by their executive network which, at this point, is large and differentiated.
