HF vs IB
I’ve been thinking of either moving to a HF after 2-3 years of IB or going straight into a HF after graduation (I know it’s nearly impossible) Is the average total comp of a HF trader actually higher than that of a BB IB associate. I know that with the HF payment structure the base is low but the bonus is 5-20% of your profit usually around 12%. Do most traders at a decent HF (P72, Citadel, millennium) make more than the $350-450k a mid level Goldman associate might make?
Why are you comparing traders to IBD people? They're completely different skillsets and you don't typically go from IBD -> Trader. Its more from S&T.
