Quantitative Fund of Funds (FoF)
Hi All,
I am interviewing for a quant role at a large fund manager (FoF) and noticed there does not seem to be much detail on the site so thought it might be helpful to start this. To be clear this is not a PE FoF role for which there is a lot of data but rather a firm that invests in other publicly managed funds.
Does anyone have any insight or experience with regards to similar roles? While it may not be directly comparable to this firm, it would be helpful to hear about the your perspective on the role, work-life balance, compensation and views on outlook?
With regards to views, was curious whether you plan to stay in the space or try to move on? I am aware moving into PE / HF's from a fundamental FoF role is difficult given mismatch of skills but thought the move to an asset manager or HF might be easier given its quant and skills would be quite similar, though keen to hear if I am mistaken?
