What buyside path should I take?

I'm a sophomore at a HYPSM school studying computer science. I have a strong background in AI through classes, but I really like finance. I'm trying to figure out what route to go down within finance post grad. I've worked in long/short equities before and loved the work there. PE also seems cool, particularly the tech buyout space. I'm also quite interested in macro strategies--I've done work related to public policy and love geopolitics and their effects on commodities, rates, etc. What are the pros/cons of these paths and how should I approach finding out where I want to work long term.

Also, what firms are generally best for each of these strategies. Obviously for L/S and PE, places like Tiger and BX make the most sense, but for global macro, would you want to work somewhere like Citadel or Bridgewater, or at a pure macro fund? Overall, I think I'd enjoy a blend of macro and value investing, if that exists.

*note--I don't really enjoy quant work, prefer discretionary over systematic strategies

Not sure high watermarks illustrate being a top shop but who knows, they might turn it around in a few years.

Don't know much about other strategies but i do have an internship at one of the MMs (Point72/Citadel) for discretionary long-short so can answer questions about recruiting for that as an undergrad but if you're specifically looking for smart-beta single manager shops or activist investing you're probs gna wanna aim for PE/IBD first.
