IB to FAANMG - Advice welcome

Hey all,

So kind of at a point where I need to choose a line/stream and was wondering if it may be possible to learn how to go about fashioning a move towards FAANG + Microsoft or similar companies with prior experience being predominantly in IB

Looking at moves in EMEA which is where I am based. The ideal roles will be Product Associate/Junior PM/Strategy & Marketing/Strategy & Ops roles (with the opportunity to grow into PM). Sector wise, have been a generalist including Tech and Consumer (possibly two most relevant verticals for such a transition).

Academic background is CS/Maths/Stats from a UK target (if it helps). Anyone know of similar moves or if anyone interned/worked in IB/Consulting and moved to Big Tech within EMEA?

Any questions, please ask!

You may be right actually. Having said that, I wouldn’t rule out a more junior job in FAANG/M just because of IB experience/my experience.

But if it does come down to exp, would say I would actually prefer to go IB -> Consulting -> FAANG.
