Leveraging summer offer from top bank for Winter/Spring Internship?
Hi,
I have an offer from a top EB for Summer 2020. I go to school in New York City, and am looking to get some experience in the winter/spring.
Would it be smart to put the bank I got an offer at on my resume for leverage to a top bank for a winter spot? Would the bank I received an offer at look down on me interning at their competitors? Would the banks I'm applying to even want an intern if they're just going to go to another firm anyway?
Any advice would be welcome guys.
Thanks
No, this MS will just get you in trouble. You open yourself to much harder interviews and roasting in interviews.
or easier interviews because they know you made it through an already rigorous process?
I have never seen that happen (yes, it could but I haven't). I have also done a SA and then moved to another bank and the interview opened new opportunities but it made my interviewing harder.
Sure but what if you genuinely want to do an off-cycle internship for experience and learning?
I'm not saying don't do internships. I am saying don't falsely represent your experience and skills on your resume. You clearly got an offer with your current resume, so why not just keep the current resume?
