London VPs

Hi all,

Currently a VP in FIG at a balance sheet foreign bank in New York and looking to move to London. For various reasons it might be difficult to move internally so I’m starting to look at other opportunities. I am not familiar with the London IB and FIG markets so any advice on which banks to target / good FIG boutiques and the main recruiters would be much appreciated. Also if anyone has colour on London VP interview processes that would be great.

Unsure on recruiters but strong FIG banks/boutiques:

- Ardea Partners (recruiting led by EMEA Chief of Staff)
- Fenchurch Advisory Partners (Dartmouth Partners does some of their recruiting)
- Alantra FIG team is strong (more so their SFABS team). FIG is silo’d from the rest of their coverage teams
- KBW, now part of Stifel I believe
- Continuum Advisory Partners is a FIG specialist boutique, relatively new but expanding I believe
- Insurance Advisory Partners also strong in the insurance space

The rest of FIG is done by classic BB/MM/EB shops. Morgan Stanley is probably the leader in SFABS. Fenchurch gets huge FIG M&A mandates and is super small - probably the best FIG specialist in Europe.
