PWP LDN deferring FT start date

In summary, incoming 2023 first-year analysts were offered 5k GBP to defer their start date for 1 year. Anyone has more insights into this?

Also as an incoming SA , how screwed am I? Do you think this deferral will impact the SA conversion rate or most likely only lateral / graduate hiring for 2024?
