Summer analyst background check & employment verification
Hey everyone, I know there are a lot of threads on this but I was just wondering if we could get a walkthrough of the background check process for summer analyst roles, specifically with regards to the employment verification itself. I know that a 3rd party verification company is used by most banks but I am still confused about how the checks work!
Does the 3rd party verification company pull employment information and details from the resume submitted to your bank OR do you input the details into the 3rd party verification company's portal?
If someone could walk through the process and the specific ways in which the 3rd party company verify, that would be great. Just want to be prepared for the process whenever it starts!

bump... Does the 3rd party company take info from your bank application or do you have to resubmit all of it to the 3rd party company again?
True, do the verification companies operate? do they make you input all of your information or do they go to the bank for it
Just tell the truth, and none of this should matter. Most banks should take the information from your resume/application/if they check at all.
So you don't submit your information to the verification company yourself (i.e. the bank does it)? (obviously the same info as in the application...) Just trying to get a sense of how the process works!
Sometimes they do check if what you send them is the same you uploaded to your application, so we aware that if there's anything new, it wont hurt, but if something is missing be ready to have strong excuses cause you can be blacklisted. But it doesnt always happen

I have made some significant changes to my resume and have two additional roles (and removed one) that are not on the resume submitted with my IB SA application. I want to make sure that there are no issues that arise form this. thanks!
At my bank you have to give the third-party company all the information through their online form (which is what get checked). The results are then given to HR who checks with your resume/application portal.
