SA after graduation?

Hi all, I am a UK uni student graduating next year, with the goal of breaking into IB. Unfortunately this year I did not manage to get a summer internship with a BB/EB, and only manage to network my way into a decent M&A team in an investment company in my home country for the summer. They do not offer full time roles but I believe that I will gain good experience through the program.

Recently I was told that that I could apply for some 2022 SA roles despite graduating in 2022, can anyone confirm if this is true in the UK? I read https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/20-most-fr… but I am not sure if OC or SA roles are more applicable to my situation. If anyone has been in my situation and can share more about it, that would be great too.

Thanks in advance.

Am doing SA after graduation at a top top IB (UK) - however, it is a very tough route and without prior experience still a crapshoot. Yes, apply, prep, shoot for it - but do not expect it without prior interviews. Also the added anxiety of needing to convert, which I have seen on prior SAs potentially impacting performance in a negative way (being last out isn’t always good - being desperate definitely isn’t good). Best of luck with your journey

Hey, thanks for answering, all the best for your SA! When you say it is tough, do you mean students in my position are expected to have direct relevant experiences before applying? Are there any other additional obstacles (apart from the usual)?
