Short Case Study Exercise

Hi,

Hypothetically, if in a buy-side interview you are presented with a 500-page PIB that has the firm's SEC filings, equity research, comps, and investor presentations and you have 30mins to come up with a thesis, how would you approach this task?  No model output just thought exercise.

Given the sheer breadth of data, where will you look first, and given the time crunch what tell-tale signs would you be relying on to give a solid answer?

Thank you!

I would start with latest investor pres/ capital markets day pres and skim a couple of research reports. Once you have a grasp of what the company does and how they are positioned, take a look at the comps for valuation. Don't think you have time for much else.

Need to have a recommendation or an opinion on top of that - ER reports should have a key debates section. You can give a thesis and then discuss how you would dig further.
