Impossible to raise money/find deals as smallish GP. What are people doing?

Have been in this industry for close to 15 years. Worked for people for a while and have been doing my own thing for a couple years. This is by far the worst time I have ever seen to be a smallish GP. Return expectations from LP's are unrealistic, nothing pencils, and expectations are just impossible for any GP's to do anything. I am suppose to find an off-market deal with an easy seller that produces insane returns with limited risk? Sorry to vent, just feel like something has to give here or no deals are going to get done, you need equity to do these, not everyone can do pref/debt forever.
