Automation of Credit Trading in S&T
I am interested in the opportunities that the automation of credit trading will bring to roles in sell side trading. I am about to join the Credit Trading desk at a BB in London as a summer intern. I have a Masters of Engineering background with a lot of coding experience in a range of languages under my belt.
1) Will there be opportunities for coding (Python,Java, C etc)
2) How will automation affect the different types of credit products

There should be opportunities for automation within the realm of IG credit and Credit indices. Not so much for Leveraged Loans / Distressed since you need to have a solid understanding of the bond indenture before trading those products.
