A Career Crossroads

Although trading is my primary interest, asset mgmt is a close second. (I am very aware that they are two distinct banking disciplines; and I could function in either environment) Do I go for what's potentially on the table if it's a pretty good opportunity in asset mgmt, or do I hold out and gamble on the prospect that I (MIGHT) get on a desk.
