A Kid seeking a bit of advice

Uh. Hi. So I am currently a Student at a Non-Target in the middle of a Transfer to a target (it is currently my sophomore year of undergrad). I simply came to ask, what kind of internships should one seek if they want to become a "knowledge sponge" so-to-speak. Originally I wanted to "pay my dues" in Equity research, and as such for my freshman year I interned at a firm doing just that (and I am to return this summer), but that made me think... if there's so much more to know why don't I know it? So I came here to ask what kind of jobs/internships can I do where I would gain the most knowledge about the industry? Basically, where can I learn the most? (The classroom doesn't seem to have much to offer right now). Thanks.

First, are you looking to enter IB or S&T. If you are looking to do IBD, look at small regional banks and try to join one this summer for an internship. It may be unpaid, but the exp. you will get from doing it will pay off later. Lots of these small shops do mainly LMM M&A deals where you can get direct exp. as an intern. I don't know much about S&T so can't help you there.
