Analyzing a post-interview thank you email response
To begin, I am an overthinker by nature, so I invite other overthinkers to analyze this email with me.
I sent my interviewers from my interview last week thank you emails today and got a response from one of them. Basically said that they enjoyed meeting me as well and that they're sure that I will be hearing back from their HR soon. Is this a positive indicator that I am going to hear good news, or just a response to my "I look forward to hearing back for next steps"? I feel like it points towards good news since why mention that if I didn't get the job? Like "haha ya you'll be getting ur rejection soon." What do yall think?
Being an overthinker myself, my best advice would be to not overthink it. The response doesn't really mean anything, except that you will hear back from them soon. If I were you, I would apply to as many other firms as possible, so as to have something just in case you don't get this internship. Not saying that you won't get that internship, but just good to have a backup just in case.
No doubt, I already have 3 other interviews lined up and I look for new postings everyday. This is for a FT analyst position btw
99% chance it was typed with zero thought behind it. Don’t read into it.
Dang, was hoping "hearing from HR soon" was at least a sliver of a positive indicator.
