Best I-Banks in Toronto for Analyst Entering Second Year

I've been working at a big five bank in Toronto for the past year. Sector is good, but the group barely executes. I'm getting sick of working on pitch after pitch and have it go nowhere. What's worse is that the other analyst who started with me summered in the group and got an opportunity to work on a live file before me, and now keeps getting repeat work.

I'm thinking of recruiting at other banks in the city, but don't have great insight into which are the best shops to work for in Toronto, because I come from a non-finance background.

Obviously I'm familiar with the big five, and I know the names and reputations of the globals and boutiques in general. I'm more so just hoping to get a feel for what culture is like, size of the firms in Toronto, and whether they execute, etc.

Any help or insight is very much appreciated!
