Currently at a LMM / MM IB looking to lateral at the end of my first year to a WB / lower BB type shop. Anybody have any stellar recruiters they can talk to? I see a lot of MM promotion on Selby Jennings on LinkedIn but that's the only one I see.
Not necessarily hate, but right now, so many people are moving around that each firm can probs find good talent without having to pay a fee to a recruiter candidate. If you were someone with a fee attached, a firm might just take a slightly worse candidate who does not have an additional fee.
No, they want experienced hires with reps - banks have plenty of fresh first years and you'll be filling the spots of any 1st years who leave, rather than the second year spots you see postings for. Christmas is probably your absolute earliest to get interest from anywhere legit, but your best opportunities will come close to or at the 1 year mark.

Don't use a recruiter for a lateral - just write a good resume and drop to the posting directly. Continue networking as well of course.
Side note, Selby Jennings garbage
Yeah, I was always under the impression firms hated recruiters too because then they’d have to pay them a fee?

How much experience do you need to lateral? With so much turnover would firms be interested once I’m licensed and done with training?
