Boston university
I was wondering what people thoughts are on BU? It’s got a decent number of alumni on the street according to Linkden, and a respectable name otherwise. Is BU a semi target? How helpful is it for ib recruiting?
In comparison to what? BU is a good school; it's well-respected by most people but is by no means a target. If you're choosing between BU and Michigan, go to Michigan. If you're choosing between BU and Bentley, go to BU.
I wouldn't consider it to be a semi-target. More of a non-target imo.
BU is big enough that you find alums everywhere...Also the school is known to give some serious scholarships to top students. However it's not exactly a go-to school for banking and as a big city school, alum support/culture is tepid.

Went to BU. Have very little affinity for the school other than when the Beanpot comes around -- I work with a bunch of BC alums and always enjoy the rivalry that brings to the office.
Otherwise -- it's a great school in a highly academic city but gets overshadowed by the two schools that book end the "campus" on the other side of the river. (To someone else's point, "campus" is about 3 miles long by two blocks wide - I literally used to take the Green Line from one end to the other to get to class)
No real insight other than the campus is kind of weird and runs parallel to a busy city street.
