Broker-Dealer Day to Day Operations
Hi all,
I have never posted before but have been a long time reader of the forum. I was working as an Acquisitions Analyst at a private REIT, but I have been furloughed due to COVID. Ive been looking around for part time jobs (Im a senior in college still), and I found a position at an investment group as a broker-dealer. My question is what are the day to day operations for a broker-dealer on the commercial real estate side? Im used to receiving OM's from brokers, modeling/UW them and then presenting them to my boss for our groups purchase. To my understanding, at my new job (broker-dealer) I would be receiving potential deals from REPE/REIT/ETC and them asking for us to find equity for them, doing my own underwriting/review to make sure the deal makes sense, than reaching out to potential equity investors to fund the deal? Does that sound right? If you have any input into day to day operations for CRE broker-dealer, please let me know! Thanks!
