Can firms see my graduation date?
Quick question for everyone on here, I plan on applying for summer analyst roles at various BB banks and other firms for 2022 this upcoming spring/summer. I graduate next year in the Fall, and plan on completing a master's the following year. Will prospective employers care that I'm graduating in the fall and have a gap semester between the two? I'm worried about it looking strange.
Given that the recruitment process happens before I graduate from my undergrad school could I just write that I'm graduating from undergrad in the Spring? Or will I get caught on this? My main concern is being written off because I'd already be a graduate and between programs at the time of the summer analyst role.
In short, my question is how rigorous banks, BB Banks specifically, are with checking graduation dates and whatnot.
Thanks, any help would be much appreciated.
Since you'll be coming out to work FT with a masters, it might be prudent to add more work experience to prove yourself in the gap semester.
You could also travel or study abroad - it might be the last gap you'll get in a long time. Just depends on if you want to strengthen your resume through additional career experience or other life experiences.
I was thinking about doing both, but I don't have any role secured yet for that 2022 summer, I'm wondering if this will look strange when I'm applying. If I say that I'm graduating that spring will I be caught or would they generally just not care? Its an atypical situation so idk if there's any precedent but the one thing that looks promising is european banks giving out SA roles post-graduation pre-Master's, so worst case I could just aim for working in London or something.
Just put when you graduate as your graduation date.
