Career Fairs: How to be Different?

So far I've been to a couple of career fairs but feel like I haven't been able to get the best out of them. Any advice on how to approach recruiters? Like how do you differentiate yourself from others without sounding so desperate? How should I follow up with the recruiters?

If anyone has a story of how they got an interview from meeting a recruiter at a career fair, I'd be really interested in hearing it.
