Registering for first Finance super day at my university (Canadian non-target) in September. Have to submit a resume and profile and will have the opportunity to make a one minute pitch and network during lunch. Haven't been provided a list of employers yet but historically they have been Canadian BBs and Toronto based boutiques.
Does anyone have any tips on what to include/leave out on a profile? Anything that you have done in the past to make your profile really stand out? Lunchtime networking do's and dont's?

Sorry but I can't offer any advice because I am an undergrad like yourself. I'm also from a Canadian University. In accounting tho. Which firms? In my past experience with accounting firms is just act natural, don't be nervous, try to talk more with a few ppl and develop a relationship of shorts rather than try to talk with everyone. Be genuinely interested and always as for cards ( and follow up)

Is this FT or SA. Where you goto school? What year are you in?
It's for full-time. Heading into 4th year. School is in Eastern Canada.
Depends how "east" you are I landed an interview ( purely by connections) with a Canadian BB, if you are from NS or one of those provinces you have to have impeccable grades (CIBC and RBC are real ball buster on that one), also beyond GPA's you have to show you are as if not more technically adept than someone at Queens or Ivey, so you have to know your valuation inside and out (DCF, comps etc.) . Beyond that I think one thing that made my profile stand out was that I did a load of Math on top of my finance degree and listed them on the relevant courses section of my resume.

Thanks for the info. It is Dal, btw. I've been fortunate to have a few good co-op terms with BBs in Toronto but neither position was in anything remotely relevant to IB. Trying to get a part-time position for during the school year at one of the local Halifax firms.
