This isn't their usual "sale- shirts from $35" deal where some classic fit must-iron olive-colored shirt is $35 and the shirts you want are all $59. I picked up my favorite wrinkle-free slim fit sky (and white) twill shirts for $29.50.
Suits also start at $350 and most sizes are in stock. Reasonable (not amazing) deal. I'm keeping what I have, but I'd buy one or two if I was in short supply. A coupon may save you 15% (RETMN7), bringing the net price to $300, but you have to order it and apply it separately (the coupon doesn't stack with the shirts deal.)
Also it looks like cashback doesn't work on this either. You have to go directly to the link above and order the traditional way. Still, I've paid $35 for these shirts and been thrilled, so $29.50 with no other discounts is a great deal.
Back to my rusty honda- now filled with high quality UK-made shirts picked up on the cheap.
Their shirts have declined big-time. I'm done with CT. They have these weekly promotions for a reason.
I recently bought a shirt & tie for $40 (+ $10 shipping). The shirt is garbage. Rather pay a premium and get something nice.
Even over the past six months?
Idunno. I think the shirts I ordered six months ago are comparable to Abboud or Nordstrom's branded shirts. As in they can last 70 washes while something cheap like Stafford or Alfani at JCP or Macy's will last 40-50.
The shirt & tie deal was in March. I also ordered shirts and cufflinks around the holidays.. always disappointed with the $40 shirt deals when I ordered online.
A year ago I bought two black label shirts for ~$75 each. The material is good but the shirts wrinkle in 5 minutes. A white undershirt can also be easily seen over a blue shirt.
Recently their 180s were on sale for ~$110. I was going to get one for my dad and smartly visited the Madison store. Similarly to the black label shirts the 180s were easily see-through and the material just too fine.
I'll just stick to Brooks Brothers, pay the premium, and wait for 25% sales. I think there's one going on now.
Ahh, Tyrwhitt sells non-iron shirts that don't wrinkle- they're the only ones I've ordered. I don't have any experience with the ironables.
do you size up at all? or do you wear the same size in CT as other brands. I've read that some CT shirts shrink wondering if its true at all.
I love the style of the CT shirts, but they just don't fit me. Was really depressed when I ordered them and found out.
Compare the prices in pounds. I've found they are 5-6 bucks cheaper when you convert them to dollars.
It could just be me specific. The shoulders didn't fit well and when I raise my arms up the whole shit becomes un-tucked. Materials didn't feel that great either.
Different strokes. Shirts look stylish, just didn't work for me. I do brooks and pink, but they aren't the cheapest. I'm going to try the Harvey Hudson shirts out to see how they are.
I am 175# 5'11". Their "slim fit" fits me well, although the difference between slim fit and classic is fairly small.
You're a grown man with blonde hair. No one is going to take you seriously.
Thanks IlliniProgrammer. I just ordered 3 non-irons. Been wanting to buy these for a long time and was waiting on this sale. Will let the forum know how I fared with the purchase.
I allow about half a sleeve length for shrinking. I'm somewhere between a 33 and a 34, and I go with a 34.
Just bought three extra slim fit. Let's see what happens...
going back and forth to london i got caught short shirts recently and went into CT and bought 5 on this deal. Great buy...the fully tailored (or whatever they cal it) fits really great. Generally i am a big believer that you should spend money on accessories, shoes, and blazers/suits/outerwear but that shirts are really just about fit.
I just got in my CT extra slim fit dress shirts and slim fit polo. I'm very happy with the purchase. They fit very well and I won't have to have them tailored. The quality is very good. The brass color stays are a nice touch. They shipped in like 5 days. And the price was lower than that of shirts at Sears.
My order was split between two boxes. Waiting on my last dress shirt and a few sport shirts.
my above post was referring to TM lewin, not CT...realized after i sent it. TM Lewin is good also tho...may even be affiliated...same font in the logo, same really cheap and decent shirts.
Jos a Bank shirts are great for the price. Especially the clearance ones.
Quality is an issue. Can't speak for CT.
