Custom Suit Options

For those who have purchased custom (bespoke) suits before, where did you go and how was your experience? I have gotten a few recommendations for Enzo Custom Clothiers and J Lucas Custom Clothiers. They offer the full custom tailoring experience at very reasonable price points. Has anyone had an experience at either shop? Any information/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Made-to-Measure! It's the middle ground between custom and off-the-rack. Custom is made from scratch using your measurements and o.t.f. is standardized across sizes. Made-to-measure on the other hand takes a standard pattern based on your chest size and alters it according to your measurements. I like it because it is a pain in the ass to buy a suit then go to a tailor. I'd rather have my measurements incorporated into the suit before I get it.

"Alright I want to talk to you guys about appearance okay because most of you dress like shit."

if you've already bought a few suits and know what you like/don't like then mtm is good, otherwise otr is better.

Yeah, if you have had a few suits before then its a good time to go for customized, otherwise it should be off the rack for you.

Go off the rack from somewhere respectable, e.g. Brooks, and just get it tailored properly.

BB is far superior to Indochino.

Indochino is cheap dress clothes for men who don’t know any better. Take your own measurements? If there’s any reason to spend money on clothes it’s to get a good fit.

Go for off the rack. At $1000 You'd maybe get one MTM suit from either some online store, or smaller local shop. Quality would be so-so.

Buy two suitsupply suits($650), a decent pair of cap-toes($250), 4 TM Lewin or Charles Thyrwit dress shirts(120$), and a couple of ties($80). That would put you 100$ above your budget, but it's a good start.
