Did you enter a plea or were you convicted, try to shoot for an ACD unless you think you can really get away with not guilty.

If you were convicted (no contest, or guilty), report it to HR, yes you can get terminated on the spot but not all misdemeanors result in termination. A weed conviction just means you like to party and could be seen as a crime of youth. But not disclosing first, and having them find out on their own from the fbi fingerprint results will get you canned with extreme prejudice. What the financial industry hates more than criminals is liars, ironic isn't it?

The real deal breakers are felonies and anything that shows up dealing with theft, fraud, or dishonesty that will get you disqualified and banned for life from the financial industry or ten years on good behavior which ever comes first.

Incoming BB summer analyst. I screwed up major and got charged with misdemeanor possession of weed today. Should I disclose this to HR? Will it result in me losing the job if I'm honest? I'm assuming this will show up when I submit my fingerprints to the bank...Already passed a drug test if that matters.

I don't have words adequate to this level of fail on life decision making.

Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.
