Do networking strategies change based on different cities/locations?
Hi folks,
I recently moved to San Antonio from Atlanta and I have had issues with breaking into FP&A from Corporate Credit via online job applications. I have no prior connections here. I decided that I need to change my approach and will be looking to create a network here and try my hand at finding work that way. I have purchased and went through the WSO Networking guide and was wondering if the strategies related to reaching out for informational interviews is a strategy that works/is accepted outside of major metropolitan cities like NY or Chicago. I am very shy and introverted so I was hoping to avoid this approach, but it appears that it is inevitable. I ask this question because my supervisors at my previous workplace (in Atlanta) cracked jokes about potential candidates that wanted to schedule informational interviews being tryhards.
