Does life get better after you secure a summer offer?
As many of you are probably, I am incredibly anxious and horribly stressed out now. I don't know if I can take this for much longer. Are things so much better once that first good offer comes in?
Yes. But there's also no worse feeling than knowing that recruiting is over and not having an offer and having absolutely no idea what ho to proceed onwards. I've been there before also.
well that really bummed me out...
how'd you deal with that, b?
Just persisted onwards. Eventually underwent a transformation process that summer that made me a extremely successful this time around. Persistence pays - never get crestfallen. PM me if you actually are interested in hearing my specific story (its a bit long and personal to post here).
Yes, it feels good......but yea it's important to cast a wide net unless you're a super star.
It feels even better to get an offer, and then to continually progress at better banks - this is definitely an huge upper for me on some days.
i just had a phone interview yesterday for BB NY and was asked what i knew about a particular group within the division, and i flat out said "no clue - can you tell me"
yeah, that surely would not have happened had i been worried about securing a job
My semester now consists mainly of golf, drinking, and watching sportscenter, so yes, life gets better. I'm also getting pretty pumped for this summer, who all has figured out where they are living??
how could it not
its better :-)
it is better but a summer offer is only the first step.then you have to worry about performing well and landing that FT offer. i found this too be extremely stressing because you could arguethat not having interned at all is better than not getting a FT offer. Once you have that FT offer though it is pretty relaxing.
