Entrepreneur looking for IB/PE work experience
So I'm a entrepreneur of a small niche medtech company currently working out of LA, CA. Looking to position myself into finance or strategy role.
Not sure my startup will hit it big (it was always intended to be a stepping stone into bigger opportunities). A lot of product delays, lost opportunities, loss of my
business partner, but most importantly the fact that I got little passion for what I'm doing is pushing me to want to sell & move on.
Goal still is to realistically generate 1-1.5M in returns between profits and any acquisition within next 3-24 months.
From that I'd personally pocket 300k to 600k. still face a number of challenges so I might have to settle for return of investor's capital + 100-150k only for myself after working on this for past 2.5 years.
Would experience as a "lifestyle" entrepreneur help with networking my way into a position in IB, PE, VC, MC, or ER in TMT?
My interests are in valuation, restructuring, M&A, strategy, & equities markets.
Also where should I focus my free time? CFA takes way too long, networking without having job availability seems like a waste of time unless it's possible to do Job shadows.
Appreciate any advice.
