ETF question
Hello,
I'm interested in investing in ETFs but sadly enough I do not live in the USA. Vanguard doesn't accept foreign investors and BlackRock has only 5 ETFs (whom aren't very broad, which doesn't suit my needs) for Belgian investors.
I did some reading and it seems the major reason foreign investors aren't accepted is due to tax reasons.
However I also have an account with Interactive Brokers (I used to do more active trading) and they do seem to offer the ETFs I want, however this seems fishy since the fund issuers don't accept foreign investors.
Could anyone give some insight or advice on the tax implications and on what I have to do be able to buy ETFs? (think US large cap, small cap, value, growth, intermediate bonds, TIPS, REITs, emerging markets, broad Europe stock market, Pacific region)

I supose that you are from Belgium. So I imagine that you shouldn't have many problems buying ETFs; I'm also european. I recomend you to find another broker (who would know better your country than I.Brokers) with a huge range of ETFs. Talking about the ETF; I have done a quick search and I have found that you should pay taxes at the 25% for the capital gains. Althought, I don't know if there is any discount of taxes that you could apply.
