Exit opps for juniors at Special Situations funds?

Going to be joining a Special Situations team at one of the top MF's in the US. Was wondering what I can expect in terms of salary progression and exit opps in the future? Would distressed HF like Elliott be on the table? Lateralling to corporate PE at the same or similar fund be on the table?

There is absolutely nothing dumber on WSO than the "I haven't started yet - exit opps?" posts. How about you just go in there and do the best job you can and learn your craft, develop a profession? Exit opps are for bottom bucket knuckleheads that are forced to look for exit opps.

I agree with you that everyone should be going in there and doing they best job they can, however, with recruiting happening so early in one's college career you basically need to make the decision that you want to go into finance as a sophomore at the latest. Otherwise, you'll most likely miss the boat and be screwed if you end up wanting to get into the field as a junior/senior. I think part of the reason, in my opinion, that exit opps are talked about so much on here is because most college students in their sophomore and junior year have no clue what they want to do with their lives. Having more exit opps reassures them that if they don't end up liking the career path they're on, they won't be stuck. This is why, as a junior in college, I'm worried about exit opps before I've started.
