Final Choice for Summer S&T Jobs - ML, DB

I have it down to these 2 firms in New York. I'm interested in FI Trading (so I think now). I know DB may have the better reputation in that area (mostly in Europe) but the Merrill name means much more in the US. This would mean something if I don't love my job and decide to pursue other options a few years down the road.

What would you do?

DB, hands down. after the writedowns its taken, the Merrill name really isnt what it used to be. db is the number 2 s&t firm in the world by revenue (second only to goldman), and i have to say, when i visited the firm, i was really impressed. the people in db ny seem extremely on top of their shit, and the firms performance has been really fucking good, especially as of late. if you want to be at a place that's growing, go to db.

out of curiosity, what school do you go to?

thanks guys for the advice. i was kind of thinking DB too but 2 things were holding me back:

  1. I may find I don't like FI trading so the DB name won't be strong if I want to switch to another firm/go to Bschool

  2. A lot of DB traders I've met seem to be great traders that have been bought from other banks. This might mean that if I'm not an amazing trader, I will be pushed to the side and forced to fend for myself in a superstar world

any advice on those?
