First year Business student seeking advice
Hello, firstly i'd like to introduce myself to the forum as an eager university student looking to make it in the banking and finance sector. Currently i am doing business degree at a Russell group university in England and achieved A* A* A at A-level. What can i do to further my chances in the finance sector and what books do you recommend to improve my knowledge on Asset Management and investment banking.
I am also interested in taking a masters at Imperial in Finance and would also like to know thoughts on getting into the industry from this perspective. What other things can i do to boost my resume and further my knowledge to land a job in the banking sector?
Many Thanks
J
I have a friend going to do a masters at Imperial and he also wants to get into IB, he told me the MSc Accounting & Finance was better for getting into IB than the straight Finance degree. I'm sure you can get into IB from either, but apparently more people go into IB from A&F than straight.
As far as what you can do now, you can participate in student societies, try to get an internship, network, learn about the job and industry, and learn a bit about modeling (it takes a lot of time but will be helpful).
