How hard is it to transfer locations at JPM?
I recently got the offer for JPM MMBSI in Seattle (which at the time when I submitted the application was a good idea) but I am hoping to go to SF because I'm more interested in working with tech related companies, and also because my friends and family will be in California.
One of my interviewers was an executive director at the SF location, and we hit it pretty well. He asked me if I was interested in the SF office which I replied yes. I was wondering if it would be possible for me to try for the SF location after my first 6 months (given I network and be a star employee), because I feel bad if I try to relocate right now, unless that is what is advised.
I'm a senior and this is a full time position, sorry forgot to mention.
If you are looking to transfer INTRA-LOB (as In IB to IB / MMBSI to MMBSI, PWM to PWM) to a new location they work with you. I can't say if it is "Easy" or "hard" because they is relative to the position, team, budget, etc.
I can, however, confirm that if anyone says it IS possible that they aren't just lying to you / feeding you BS.
