How much do you really need to know about the firm you're interviewing with
How much do you really need to know about the firms you're interviewing with to deal with the why firm XYZ? what do you know about firm XYZ? questions
History? names of CEOs and COOs? names of past execs? current events? trading history? recent events?
How far should you take this to reasonably prepare for a first round interview, especially considering if you are applying to many firms.
I've been told that the best answer to "Why Us?" is to reference conversations you've had with people who work there and how the experience and people are key.
Obviously recent/current events are important (and I've been asked co.'s share price in one interview) but this question is a good opportunity to demonstrate that you've networked and met people at the firm. Name drops help too.
