How the fuck do you get out of Canada and go to the States?

I'm sick and tired of Trudeau, of these enormous taxes 48%/53% above 150K/220K, socialist outlooks, rent being $2500 for a 600sqft shitbox downtown, awful exchange rates/purchasing power, shit winters, and making half the money my peers doing the same job as me do in the U.S.. As an experienced hire, can someone explain the process of getting a job in the U.S. and getting sponsorship? Is it possible if you're moving banks? Is it possible for roles outside of M&A or Coverage such as corporate banking?

I lateralled from my PE seat in Canada to an equivalent role in NYC and went through a HH. I've had a few friends who have gone Big 5 to NYC. A lot of banks have an appetite to sponsor given the demand for analysts/associates. Path of least resistance is to network your way into an interview, although if you have a strong profile you can probably get some traction through applying to openings online (when I was lateralling a few months ago there were a ton of postings on LinkedIn).
