How to lateral if you have MSF in mind

Hello,

I have been working at a back office role for a little more than a year now, and after realizing that there are almost no real exit opportunities, started considering to study for the GMAT and take a shot at an MSF. The problem is that my job is killing me (easy/boring/repetitive/no motivation/incompetent coworkers) and even if I get into an MSF, it will start around around summer/fall and I'm not sure if I will lose my shit by then. With my company policies, I will be able to lateral (if qualified) at the end of January, but I am not sure if anyone will take me knowing that I will be quitting withing 4-7 months. I am also hoping to get LOR's for my applications, so there is no way that I could lie about the MSF. Also getting an outside relevant job is hard since if I could do that, I wouldn't be going to an MSF in the first place. I can't just quit my job and do something else before the MSF starts because I need to support myself. I am interested to see how others have coped with situations like this one. I have thought of getting an internship during the summer but that will not be easy either.

tough it out

I am not looking for jobs, just planning ahead. My gmat is scheduled for end of Jan and I will be applying for the later rounds. I just want to know if there is something better than toughing it out so my time isn't wasted stuck doing a meaningless job.
