Interested in Corporate/commercial finance
Hey guys,
A little about me, I’m currently a sophomore at a non Target in Denver. Took a semester off to start a very small business and then decided that wasn’t for me, GPA currently at 3.0. I currently work as an operations manager for a bank in the city (retail side). I’m not really interested in investment banking and lately corp./commercial banking has caught my attention. Any advice on how to break into the industry and general advice. Things I should start doing from now ex. Learning to model, etc. If anyone is from the same area and would be willing to network I would totally be open to that.
Hi Outhemud, check out these threads:
I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
Hey, I would recommend if you want to go into corporate or commercial first decide what interests you. Do you like FP&A, Credit, Real Estate Analysis...etc. and then tailor your review around that. I work in corporate credit for a F50 company and have worked as a boutique analyst for a F500 company as well as a commercial credit analyst so feel free to ask me anything. I love my current job and am glad I took it as I work 40 hours a week 4 weeks vacation and it's pretty stress free vs IB and other field choices.
