Investment Banking or Trading
I have a STEM degree from a good university and have two internships in Fintech and Asset Management Technology.
I have a good understanding of maths and also some coding skills.
Will I have better odds if I apply to Investment Banking or Sales & Trading devision?
I’d assume S&T based on the skill set but that’s so broad. You’re probably equally set for both depending on a lot less specific factors such as gpa especially for BB firms. Just make sure you do some power point, excel and financial modeling to know about IB and for S&T.
Thanks!
Application for application, all things being equal I would have said S&T and you sound like you would be more pre-disposed to trading.
If you are going for off-cycle recruitment however you will have much more choice in IB as S&T don't tend to do off-cycles to the same extent.
Just my opinion. Good luck, sir.
