Is B School worth it for me?
I was recently admitted to a T15 B school and want to run some career advice through WSO. My group/team is openly anti-mba so it's not like I can go through my mentors/team. They don't know I applied, etc.
I'm just trying to ask myself if it i'm crazy to go to school and spend 150k on tuition + 2 years. P.S. No loans needed- Those are my life saving... up until this point.
My background
-I was recently admitted to a T15 B School (Cornell, Michigan, Duke)...
-Currently on track to make 200k in tier 2 city (west of Mississippi).
-Work in PWM / Sales
-28 Y/O
-Looking to pass LIII of CFA exam this year
I attended a non-target and went straight into the PWM/ investment sales world after non-target undergrad. I've build good relationships and have gotten the trust of my team and they pay me over-market for what I do. I am afraid i'll be capping out in the next few years given the industry and climate (that's just a guess)
Given I'd most likely be interested in working in IB post mba - is it worth the career change, city move, and everything to pursue IB. I didn't have the opportunipwmty to pursue banking post undergrad and have only worked in sales. I wonder if that will limit me as I go forward, thus my reason for pursuing an MBA.
Given that my comp will probably go down in Y1 post mba living in NYC for example. Any thoughts?
Hey BaseballSluggerz, what a lonely thread. I'm here since nobody responded ...so maybe one of these discussions will help:
Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.
