Is it normal for a potential employer to ask for trade history?
As the title says, is it normal for employers to ask for your trade history? If so, do I just download the monthly statements and send them all to him/her?
Lastly, is it okay to omit the history of an account (heavy losses!) or should I just send it anyways.
Thanks for the help, just unsure if this is a legit request or not!
no, but they will ask for your strategy, what is your edge. They want to understand how you think...because they are trying to surmise, can this guy repeat what he says he has done. Does he have a repeatable system?
So if someone asks for my trade history, I shouldn't send it to them?
Is there anything that can happen if I send it? (more so from a security perspective, am I at risk if I send my info? Is it possible they steal something from just my trade history?
i can't imagine a legit firm ever asking....but i don't see the harm if its just your small PA. This has never happened to me. But then again, i've always had confidentiality agreements with my trading firms....so i couldn't, even if i wanted to.
However, don't give them your login info...if possible, i would suggest giving them annotated charts that show how you make your decision making process works.
