This is coming from the horse’s mouth as I posed this same question to my HR recruiter. Essentially they will take almost all their full timers from the current summer analyst class. The only spots left for full time recruiting will be those spots that the summers don't accept. Given current market conditions I would expect a much higher retention rate then previous years. This is just one BB firm so I can't attest for the rest of the street.

I have a feeling it will be a rough year. I know my firm probably overhired a bit this year, and rather than laying people off, they will probably just compensate by hiring fewer next year. Assuming most of our interns accept, I think we may hire 5 people, tops.

Tough year to be coming out of college...

Interested in hearing this as well, as a current SA, I feel pretty lucky to have the opportunity to get an offer, though I do want to look around, since I don't really like the focus of my shop.
