It's Friday, Friday, Friday...

Okay...so it isn't Friday, yet...but I thought I would share with my fellow monkeys the remix of Rebecca Black"s "Friday" as performed by some guys from JMU. Enjoy...

As a side note, apparently this girl has become a millionaire...

http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/125771/20110323/r…

Here's to hoping that $1mm is her 'walking away' number.

P.S. I know the song was originally brought up in a different thread but I couldn't remember which one so I created a new post. Sorry if I stole someone else's thunder.

Regards

Dude, now I have to listen to Friday again just to get that shitty experience out of my brain. Easily the shittiest song I've ever heard.

Songs like these are one reason (besides wanting to be right in my predictions) that I want the economy to crash big time. Girls like this need to grab a shovel and do some hard labor.

looking for that pick-me-up to power through an all-nighter?

Someone is definitely getting rich off of her song, but I don't think it is necessarily Ms. Black.

My guess is Ark Music Factory retains most of the rights and royalty streams for the song as they wrote it and produced the video and negotiated whatever deal was in place with iTunes.

Typical royalty rates for recording artists are 10-15% but who knows what royalty rate, if any, Rebecca's deal included. If she does get the industry average though...she'd be pulling in IB analyst money at 13.

Makes you wonder if we were all wasting our time with "prestigious" extracurricular activities at that age.

Hmm, apparently Forbes posted a correction and the song only sold about 40,000 copies. Never mind.

Anyway today is Wednesday. Tomorrow is Saturday. Friday comes afterwards.

I so excited.

Y'all a bunch of haters. She is essentially Rick Astley and is too young to know what a rick roll is.

The only difference is Rick Astley doesnt make a total ass out of himself

Come to think of it, you're entirely right. Her video has already been used exactly as the rick roll has always been. I think we've got a meme for a new generation.

Man... I dont get why people are giving her so much shit.

I heard she spent like $2 Grand to make that video at some music camp she went to....

She has now made millions? Hell, that my friend is called a baller.

Exactly. I'm jealous (hey I admit it).

Some 13 year old can just make a mediocre pop song with repetitive lyrics and make a sum that will take me years to earn.

This is quickly turing into a burn fest. I forsee monkeys spending hours on youtube finding the worst music videos of all time.

Gotcha. But still, sign me up to sing for a hundred thousand.. or whatever shes earning. Most people's talents are probably closer to William Hung then to Carrie Underwood, the only difference is shes making a killing at 13 and the other William Hungs are just sitting behind their computers (d/l and creating hits on her songs) telling her how much she sucks. Id be laughing all the way to the bank :D

Hey this makes me feel better. $40,000 and she's donating it. Pretty classy.

Guess what guys?!?! That's right, it actually is Friday...and what better excuse to drink and blackout then trying to erase Rebecca's song from continually playing in your head? Exactly, there is none. Anyways, this is a little remix I ran across (different from the original one I posted) and it's rather funny. Hopefully it will hold you over until you can get to the bar and find somebody to smush. Enjoy...

You forgot the link?

Damn...thanks man. I always forget to change the input format.

Now that I've built the anticipation, I hope it was worth the wait, lol.

Ahahahahah I literally haven't laughed that hard in sooooo long. I just copped more credits simply to SB that. Definitely worth the wait: "MY HAND IS A DOLPHIN."

How sad is it that I went out with a bunch of PE/Traders/Attorneys last night and the primary topic of conversation was Rebecca Black.... Thank god I have WSO to keep me in the loop.

That is really sad, it's like an epidemic. In the same vein, they even mentioned her on PTI on ESPN yesterday.

She has over 53 million views. I feel as though there is less and less hope for this world, lol.

Yeah buddy! Looks like it's Friday once again. This morning I ran across another remix of wunderkind Rebecca Black's chart topping song "Friday" (thanks FB). Following the link to view what is likely the most enjoyable version of the song to date.

Well, it appears the link doesn't want to function properly, so here is a link to the video on YouTube. Because it's copyrighted I guess the person posted it as a mirror image...so everything is backwards, music and lyrics notwithstanding.

Damn, you beat me to it.

The best part is the changing languages of the captions across the bottom. And the random black guy at a girls' sleepover. And the rainbow fart that launches him into the sky.
